Cascade du Furet
It's a fairly easy walk on the heights of Barraux, starting out in a wooded setting, then taking in the countryside on the way back. Enjoy the view of Fort Barraux and the Grésivaudan valley.
Le Furet is a small waterfall nestled at the bottom of a valley facing Fort Barraux. Hidden in the forest, it is beautifully frozen in winter.
From the Barraux church, turn left towards Bellecombe par la Cascade, climbing up the Rue du Carre. At the end of the asphalt section, go straight ahead and climb the path. At the Les Blaches crossroads, continue straight up towards Bellecombe / La Cascade. At the Hauts du Carre crossroads, turn left towards Cascade du Furet. Continue straight ahead up the path. At the Champ Brisson crossroads, turn right towards Bellecombe via the Cascade. The path becomes narrower and faster. At the La Cascade crossroads, turn left to reach the waterfall after 200 metres. Back at this crossroads, follow signs for Champ Bresson. At this crossroads, turn right towards Les Hauts de la Cuiller. The path descends rapidly to Les Hauts de la Cuiller. From this crossroads, turn right to return to Barraux. Once you've reached La Croix, turn right onto the Grande Rue, back to the church, the starting point of the trail.
