Saint-Martin Church - Séchilienne
Saint-Martin Church is a Romanesque style building that has been refurbished several times over the past centuries, particularly in the 15th century.
Situated in the foothills of the Belledonne mountains, above the Alleman castle, it is a natural part of the landscape.
It was Laurent Alleman, bishop of Grenoble and a native of Château de Séchilienne, who embellished the church in the 15th century.
The church has just been restored in the style of the last major works undertaken in the 19th century.
It features gilded wooden statues (16th century) from the Prémol monastery, a statue of St. John the Baptist (17th century), a piéta and stained glass windows created by Christophe Berthier, a master glass artist in Grenoble.
