Boucle de St Hugues

Une boucle facile pour découvrir le village de St Hugues, au départ de sa célèbre église, également Musée d’Art Sacré Contemporain : le Musée Arcabas.

(1) The Church (Musée Arcabas) houses one of the finest examples of 20th-century contemporary sacred art, the works of Arcabas. Pass the Church of St Hugues on your right. Continue along the Route de Flin (GR path). Cross the road and follow the GR along the route de Gérentière. Ovens, ponds and traditional architecture follow one another. Continue along Route de Gérentière on your right (GR). (2) At the «Gérentière» sign, continue on the GR, taking the Garcinière path on your right before the bridge, as far as the «Les Epallets» sign. Continue along the GR, taking the path that rises to your right. Return to the tarmac road (Chemin des Buissonets) and continue on the GR. The ski slopes are on either side of this road. (3) At Les Egaux, go straight on to take the GR between the houses. Keep to the right for a few dozen metres to find the path (GR) which cuts a bend in the main road. Return to the road and cross it to continue on the GR, which takes a downhill path that joins the Ancienne Route de Cherlieu. Turn right onto the Ancienne Route de Cherlieu as far as the Cherlieu-Calvaire signpost. Continue to Cherlieu. Retrace your steps to the Le Buissonet signpost. (4) Leave the outward path on your right and continue straight ahead on the Ancienne Route de Cherlieu as far as the Le Vivier signpost. Take the track on your left and leave the Ancienne Route de Cherlieu. You leave the GR. The path takes you to the Flin meadow.
(5) Turn right across the meadow towards St Hugues, and you’ll soon see the Church of St Hugues.
