In the marshes
Sights: La Tour du Poulet (tower ruins), Château du Marchil, Château du Chapeau Cornu, Crucilleux lake and marshes, and the hamlet of Arcisse.
With its lake, rammed-earth houses and chestnut tree with an impressive trunk, this trail "in the marshes" highlights the Renaissance-style Château du Marchil and the 13th-century Château du Chapeau Cornu. You'll then move on to the lakes and marshes of Crucilleux which are home to many species of reptiles, amphibians and mammals, including the yellow-bellied toad and the European pond turtle. Flora fans will spot the lax-flowered orchid and the marsh orchid, both found in this listed zone that is protected for its faunistic and floristic interest.
