The high-altitude hamlets of Périer
Journey through the history of abandoned hamlets with this cool family loop.
Departure from Le Périer, follow Doms, then Le Pont du Moulin, Le Razier, Beaumogier and Les Surres. Continue through Valendre, Gaudissart and Issarton. In Issarton return to Périer via Le Pey and Le Razier. From this crossroads, return by the same route.
In the commune of Périer, during periods of strong demographic pressure, hamlets were built on sunny flats, several hundred meters above the valley. This is the case of Salce, Issart, Confolens...
But also Les Surres, Gaudissard and the Issartons. At the beginning of the 20th century, a few families still lived there. Discover these testimonies of the peasant occupation in the mountains at the bend of the paths.
