Place Grenette
Since the 17th century, this has been the town's main square, used for grains and livestock markets. The magnificent fountain, "Le Château d'Eau Lavalette" was built in 1825 and is adorned with four cherubs set over dolphins, to symbolise the Dauphiné.
It was on this square that some of the soldiers who followed Napoleon in his reconquest of power bivouacked, and where on March 9, 1815, at 9 a.m., Napoleon conducted a general review of all the troops before they set off again for Lyon.
