A solar clock
From toIn the old central school of Grenoble, where Stendhal was a student from 1796 to 1799, is located an outstanding heritage in the main staircase. A solar clock built in 1673 by the Jesuit Father Jean Bonfa.
This mirror-reflected sundial, unique in the world, is a mechanism that tells time, but also seasons, astrological signs, the moon and the sun's position... A remarkable testimony of the science of the Jesuit Fathers from the 17th century.
