(1) From the municipal pool parking lot, follow the path around the pool to the right towards the Herbetan footbridge. Do not cross the footbridge, but continue on your right to follow the GR. This gradually rises through the forest before offering superb views over a beautiful meadow, which you walk along before returning to the forest to reach Chemin du Grand Logis.
(2) Take the small road on the left, passing between the houses in the direction of La Martinière. Cross the road and follow it for a few metres on the left to join the GR path on the right. Take care when crossing the road, as vehicles have poor visibility. Follow the path down to the Ravelle bridge. A superb beech tree testifies to the richness of the Chartreuse forest. Enjoy the sound of the water emanating from the ruisseau des Corbeillers, and you may be lucky enough to spot a dipper. Cross the Ravelle bridge and continue straight ahead for the short but steady climb up to the Flin plateau. Leave the forest and continue straight ahead towards the meadow. From here, you’re on your way to the Église de St Hugues.
(3) The church houses one of the finest examples of 20th-century contemporary sacred art, the works of Arcabas. Follow the road to Flin on your left, which skirts the Flin plateau, and continue along the GR (caution for vehicles). Leave the road and take the path on your right.
(4) Cross the Herbetan stream and keep left to follow the GR. Take care when crossing the road. Continue on the GR, which winds along the ruisseau des Corbeillers. Before reaching the Col de Porte road, descend to the left to reach the river and the Herbetan footbridge.
5) Cross the footbridge and turn right to return to the path taken at the start.
