Chamrousse climbing areas
The resort of Chamrousse has several areas dedicated to climbing in exceptional landscapes. From the learning area to the sporty area in the mountains, there are for all levels and desires!
Learning area of Bachat-Bouloud (Chamrousse 1700) and Arselle plateau (Chamrousse 1600): rocky bar that lends itself very well to the initiation by its close equipment and the level of the tracks quite easy.
Climbing areas:
- Balme cave: overhanging tracks with large catches and short overhangs. Summer site often wet and cold.
- Robert Lakes: the Robert Lakes sector offers several main roads, for the pleasure of all!
- Croix of Chamrousse (equipment of the Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l'Escalade - FFME): high area particularly pleasant in hot conditions.
- Vans: on the Vans sector, the tracks are mainly oriented west and therefore very pleasant in summer!
Possible approach by gondola for tracks located in the mountains or by hiking trails including the GR738.
