Château Teyssier de Savy
Château Teyssier de Savy is set in a 7-hectare rural setting where the sun plays with the shade of hundred-year-old lime trees.
An architectural heritage consisting on a group of buildings harmoniously distributed around a courtyard, that creates a picturesque silhouette above the old village of Saint Chef. The fine and inspirational chapel, bathed in the light that filters through the 1869 stained glass, is perfect for meditation. Visits of the park, the architectural ensemble, the inner courtyard, and the chapel, harmoniously distributed around an inner courtyard, are posible on summer.
The architecture is from the 11th to the 17th century.
Burned as an act of revenge in 1403, the Old Castle was restored. Today only remains the 11th century round tower and the Tour du Poulet from the original period.
This castle belonged to the family of Jacques Joffrey, Chevalier Bayard's squire. It has changed and expanded over the centuries. With its rough stone walls, high roofs, various Romanesque towers, Saint-Chef's castle, more commonly known as Château Teyssier de Savy, creates a picturesque silhouette in the old medieval village. It sits in a rural setting of 6.8 hectares where the sunlight plays with the shade of century-old lime trees.
