Col du Sabot
The Sabot pass was a passage to Savoy, used by peddlers
The road up to the Sabot pass was made to facilitate the ascent to the mountain pastures, it extends the one from Vaujany, passes through La Villette and ends at the Sabot pass, with a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc.
This old pass, which used to be a way to get to Savoie (in patois, Sabot, "Sabaudia" means Savoie), has now been abandoned by its big brother, the Croix de Fer.
