Crémieu Market Hall

  • Historic site and monument

The market hall is an outstanding example of late medieval architecture. It was built in 1434 according to an analysis of the timber framework.

The building has retained the same appearance and the same purpose for over 500 years. The oak frame supports a recently-renovated roof made from 400 tonnes of local limestone. Inside stands a beautiful stone grain measure with four bowls.
