This modern-day treasure hunt entails the use of a GPS or smartphone to explore various places in search of a container which is known as a "cache" or "geocache". A geocache typically comprises a small waterproof container and, inside, a visiting register and at least one knick-knack, of no monetary value, which can be swapped for another.
You'll discover 8 historical, natural or unusual sites across the town.
To join the hunt, just register via the website - https://www.geocaching.com/ - free of charge. You can then download the GPS coordinates of the caches onto your device and embark on your adventure, collecting treasure along the way, and signing the register at each visit for upload to the website. When you reach the end of the trail, you'll be rewarded with a bonus cache.
