Lac des Rouies Été 2024

A beautiful glacial lake starting from the Refuge de la Lavey. Note that the directions for this untamed route from the Refuge de la Lavey.

Pedestrian access St Christophe :
At the foot of the Venosc gondola, walk down to the Bourg d'Arud bridge and join the path to Plan du Lac. At the white-water base, follow signs for Le Puy / Saint Christophe en Oisans. On leaving St Christophe, follow Pré Clot, then Champhorent.

This long hike takes us into the high mountains, in a mineral and glacial atmosphere.

ITINERARY:
From the Lavey refuge, the trail follows the Muande valley. A succession of switchbacks through varied terrain of moorland, rhododendron and rock, following cairns, leads to Lac des Rouies. The few physical sections require a good level of fitness.

The RD530 leading to Vénosc, Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans and La Bérarde is closed to all vehicular traffic, from the intersection with the RD1091 (at the Clapier d'Auris locality) to the Étages hamlet (Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans), via Venosc (Les Deux Alpes), except for local residents.
