From the Mûrier hill, the Chartreuse dominates in a tight row, its gentle slopes lined with small white houses.
Sitting comfortably on the foothills of the Belledonne, you can look down on the toy-sized conurbation: far off to the left, Grenoble seems wedged against the Vercors, which rises up, straight and wild, a silent promise of other vistas.
