Les Coteaux de St Roch Sensitive Natural Area
Explore "Les Coteaux de Saint-Roch", a sensitive natural area with three natural environments : the Grottes de la Balme caves and cliffs, the forest and the dry grasslands on a signposted trail (8 posts).
The Coteaux de Saint-Roch sensitive natural area (ENS) is located in the north of the department of Isère on the plateau of Isle Crémieu.
This classification was obtained by the village of La Balme-les-Grottes (38390) in 2009 from the Department of Isère, which supports it technically and financially in terms of management and preservation.
A Sensitive Natural Area is a remarkable site in terms of natural heritage (flora, fauna and landscape). The aim is to conserve the biodiversity of a defined area, while making it accessible to the public in order to raise awareness of the management and preservation of an ecosystem.
