Spacejunk Art Centers | Grenoble
Created to provide visual artists from the emerging art scene (Lowbrow, Board Culture, Pop Surrealism, Street Art, etc.) with a place to come and express themselves. The programme on offer at this centre was very quickly a great success with a broad audience, often the younger generation.
Since 2003, project leader and curator Jérome Catz has continued to multiply exhibitions and events, collaborations and projects, thanks to his contacts, innovative approach and choice of both established and up-and-coming artists. Two new Spacejunk spaces have been opened in the meantime, a second on the west coast in Bayonne (Pyrénées Atlantiques) and a fourth in France's second-largest city, Lyon (Rhône-Alpes).
The artists involved in these artistic movements draw their influences from too many backgrounds to mention them all... One thing's for sure: their creativity is infinite, as is their talent... and history already shows it. Almost all of these artists live only to progress, whether in technique or style... Don't be surprised if you see some of tomorrow's big names here...
Exhibitions generally last 45 days and tour the 4 Spacejunk art centers in France. Some exhibitions travel much longer, going as far as China, Australia, South America or the USA.
