The freeride ski area of La Grave La Meije

The off-piste ski area of La Grave La Meije is unique. The gondola lift takes you up to 3200 m of altitude, a stunning scenery and 2150 m of vertical through varied terrain that remains largely untouched by the changes that usually come with a ski lift.

Skiers come from over the world to enjoy this ski area where the mountain has been left in its natural state. There are no piste machines and no groomed slopes, apart from a single blue run on the glacier. Hardly anything alters the natural terrain on this vast domain that stretches from the glacier to the river. La Grave La Meije is not like any other ski resort. Every run is a new adventure and every time you stop there is plenty to marvel at.

Here the mountain commands respect. Her beauty, her whims and the snow she has in store on this particular day, in the sun or in the fog, you have to deal with it or leave it for another day. Infinite possibilities in a spectacular playground is the award.

Below the top station at 3200 m, there is no signposting, no grooming and no avalanche control. It is strongly recommended to discover the area with a mountain guide or a ski instructor.
