The Peuil Bog

A long loop starting from the sensitive natural area of the Peuil peat bog, passing by picturesque hamlets installed on the foothills of the Vercors, offering beautiful panoramas on the Belledonne chain and the Oisans.

From the parking lot, at the "Pylone" post, go up the road that runs alongside the peat bog. At the post "Tourbière du Peuil 965 m", take the stony path in the direction of the Col de l'Arc, it gradually enters the forest in the heart of a remarkable beech-fir forest. Pass through the clearing of the Twelve Apostles and reach the Griffey. Continue in the direction of the combe de la Paillière by the path that goes up, leaving on the left the path that goes down to Savoyères. At the post "Combe de la Paillère 1067 m", continue straight ahead on the path that goes up towards the combe du Cerisier. Cross a small stream to join a track. At the combe du Cerisier, turn left on the track for 500 m and join a road at the level of the Pissarde wood. Go straight down on this road and, after a succession of twists and turns, arrive at Biaucoin. Turn left on the path that goes down, still in the direction of Savoyères. The path narrows and then descends more sharply to reach the torrent of Pissarde which it follows for a few meters without crossing it. Reach a clearing and a stony track. Pass Malatrat and continue 160 m to Savoyères. In the hamlet, take the road which continues on the left towards the Peuil peat bog. Continue on the Savoyères path [panorama on Grenoble, Belledonne and Oisans]. At the intersection of Terre Grasse, at the level of the Crêt du Loup lodging, go straight ahead to join the road of the Peuil peat bog and the starting point.
